is a ls1 considered a LSX?
as well as ls2/3/6/7?
dumb question but just curious
from what i could see is lsx is a iron block..

It's in the LSx family, yes. Even 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0's are considered to be LSx engines, they are in the LS family of engines.

Generally LSx refers to the entire family of LS engines. LSX generally refers to the race block.

Yep, it gets confusing. And, I hate the term "iron LS1". It's so much more appropriate to say Iron 5.7 Gen 3

well mines a ls3 motor but wanted to call it a LSx ^ lol thanks guys it does sound confusing but i understand now i need a way to look at my block casting numbers =( any ideas
