i don't know what it will pull with a Ported Victor Jr does it flows more then a ported fast intake? but with a fast 92/92 ported intake i think it will be in the 500rwhp my car has stock 799 heads that i ported it dyno 442 but i call texas speed and they recommended the prc 227 and said i could be in the 490-500rwhp

Actually I don't know about ported Vic Jr vs ported FAST, but what I know is Vic Jr like different cams than stock style intake ( usually much difference between intake and exhaust duration ) .. I'm sure the 4 barrel thing will flow nasty numbers though !

we are looking for 500-530 rwhp / 460-470 rwtq

Masha’allah great parts , nothing to add but i prefer the 102 fast intake on your setup .

Looking forwards for the numbers .

Good luck .

Hi GTO, it seems like you are Arabian living in US .. good luck bro

Regarding the intake and why we preferred the Vic Jr over the FAST intake in this build :-

- Vic Jr has more RPM band up to 7000 RPM , and the build will be raced only for 1/4 mile with stall torque converter .. so the power is always there from 3000-3500 to 7000 RPM

- The car is not DD, or built to be real street race car .. NO .. it is not, that's why we aren't looking for streetable setup or low-end power !

- Locally the only one reached 530 RWHP with LS1 383ci was Lumina SS A4 which using Vic Jr & 4barrel setup, the same engine few months later bought by Camaro M6 owner and he swapped the intake to FAST 102mm and the power drop down to 497 RWHP ..

I think those Vic Jr when ported and used with 4 barrel TB can go away with top end power if the cam was customized to give power at 7000+ RPM

A couple for things to keep an eye out for that I found on my 237s.

The exhaust manifold and front accessory bolt holes were ~1-2mm too shallow and if you are using rockers that use the stock pedestal, you will need to grind the locating tabs off of the pedestals.

Not a big deal, but it was no fun putting my power steering pump on three times. And I'm glad I mocked up the headers in the motor prior to putting it back in the car. That would have been one hell of an exhaust leak

Then again these things might be resolved in these latest heads. Just a heads up that might save you some time.

Congratulations for your great build parts Cold Zero !!

I think breaking into 500rwhp with a rebuilt 4L60e can be easily achieved with your great heads, 11.5:1 SCR, and your big cam.

I have almost the same setup but with AFR 215 heads milled to 59cc, Mahle -6cc pistons, and 0.041 heads gasket that will put my SCR at ~ 11.4:1 and my DCR at 8.34:1

I will also be using a rebuilt 4L60e with 8.8" Fox body rear end and 3.55 gear ratio. However, my engine will miss some of the goodies you have (EWP, Rocker arms, 1 7/8" LTs).

Let's see what numbers each setup will achieve.

sounds good, but the Caprice is a heavy car for drag racing, would be a lot of weight reduction for the drag strip, seen as its not a dd or a street car i'm guessing you'll be stripping out all of the interior, etc.

Good for something different though, but very heavy car.

Yes it is heavier than F-Body and almost like the GTO you got their
Something different as you stated

And this car will see the drag strip once a year or twice, but will be raced in the weekend for short distance from low roll or from a dig

Yeah kind of

Oh ,I thought this car gonna be daily use it's more " Rsmiyah"

Now I can say the Vic jr is perfect for your setup .

Keep it up bro and "mabrook" again
