Valve Jobs - How long do they last with fast ramp cams like the XE-R, TR etc?

Is 50,000 miles reasonable?

Depends on seat width and how much valve float the engine will see. . .if the valve is bouncing on the seat, it doesn't take long.

The most important aspect of a valve job is the condition of the valve guide. It must be in good shape (not hourglassed) to center the pilot for the seat cutting. Proper seat width is important for airflow and heat transference. Unless you are running 220# on the seat and consistently turning over 7000RPM (Highly unlikely for a street car), the valve job should last a minimum of 80,000miles. If the guides are so-so, it will last about 20,000miles, if the guides are bad, it won't last 2000miles. Also of paramount importance is stem to guide clearance. If new guides are installed (quite easy on LS1's0, they should be honed to the proper stem to guide clearance.
