TFS 215's What cam?
The car is a 02 SS M6 346
So I've got 5 grand to dump on a good set of heads(tfs 215's) along with a FAST intake and other goodies.
I have noticed a good amount of people running cams in the high 230's for intake duration and low 240's for exhaust duration and right around .600 lift. I am kinda leaning towards the MS3 from Texas Speed. What are you thoughts and opinions? I am not trying to flycut pistons either.
The car is currently a DD but Im not totally concerned about drivability as 90% of my driving is on the freeway.
I will be happy with anything around 450RWHP and 400RWTQ.
Thanks in advance

I have those heads along with the Thunder Racing RapTR cam and a Fast 102. My car just dyno'd 485hp/410tq. It drives great! Here's a link to my thread:

The MS3 will be a great choice as well. Do you have LT headers yet?

I do have LT's but they currently are not on the car because I just got it smogged. They are QTP 1 3/4 with the HVMC's. I would rather not have to jump to 1 7/8's but we shall see.

Those are awesome results for sure. I ran across your thread and thats what steered me a little further away from the PRC 215's or 227's.

I had those on my car before the Kook's. Just check to make sure they don't leak at the HVMC like mine did. I had some gaps on the inside where the primaries went in. Thats why I got the Kooks. Like what he stated above, a custom cam would be a great option as well.

If you are considering TFS, then contact Brian Tooley (on here), he's a dealer for TFS and is a pleasure to work with. I just did the same upgrade you are considering. Heads, intake, cam etc etc. It would be well worth your time to reach out to him and have a nice conversation. He is very easy to deal with and can set you up so you have the best chance at optimizing the combo. The devil is in the details and he can guide you through them.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I have been lurking over these heads and various cam's for awhile now. I am definetely set on the TFS 215's. Is there any difference between the TFS 215's and the TEA TFS 215's?
I will make a couple of calls here to various vendors and get there input on some certain little details.
What length pushrods is everybody going with, with say LS7 lifters, the required shims for the rockers and cometic .040 gaskets?

be compatible with stock rocker arms. (bronze guides need full rollers)
Also since the heads flow so well (in. to ex. ratio AND mid lift) you don't need
a big cam to accomplish your goal. EPS has a nice single pattern 236 @ .050
that I'd bet you would be happy with. Call Goeff for sugg.

When you get TFS 215s from TEA instead of pre-assembled units from some other suppliers you can specify the components. As already mentioned, you should discuss with TEA the option of powder metal valve guides. You can also discuss/specify the valve springs and associated hardware as well as whether and how much to mill the heads for compression. Finally, the folks at TEA know what other components work with those heads.
(I got my TFS 215s from TEA and was very pleased.)
