I'd easily put the PRC 215 cylinder heads against any cathedral small runner LS head in the country. We sell lots of sets of 215s & 227 small bore cathedral heads for applications just like this. The PRC heads feature a different valve angle that allows for better p/v clearance compared to a stock 15 degree cylinder head like the AFR. The result is with afr heads we were able to mill for a 64cc chamber, where we can get you proper p/v clearance & 59cc chambers with the PRC 215 heads. Compression = Horsepower & torque across the board.

They absolutely will perform as good or better that the other aftermarket cathedral heads. I will be installing a set of the PRC 237 runners heads on my car.

Side by side we typically see nearly 15cfm going 227 from the 215s. My car would run a 227, but lots of guys like the smaller runner the 215s offer.

I wanna know more about these prc 215s. Can you really run stock rockers on these and be safe? TSP can you tell me how I need to run them concerning rockers and guides?
Aftermarket heads recomend aftermarket rockers but not these prc 215s?
Waiting for info to make a decision on heads and purchase thanks!

well whats nice is they offer them with powdered metal valve guides. The only bad part is that they wont sell them to you.For some reason they cant make these heads with powdered metal valve guides, something about powdered metal guides being extremely hard to find, so im not sure how General Motors does it.

We absolutely will sell them to you. I am sorry if you were told otherwise. We do try to educate people on the difference between cheap bronze guides, quality bronze guides, and powder metal guides. Unfortunately, one of the big internet crazes is powder metal guides and a lot of bad information is floating around about them due to various sources.
The issue is that we have our guides installed before they get to our facility, and we use a very good bronze guide that will not wear out like some. We are equipped to remove those guides and install the powder metal guides here at our facility, but because of their design, when they are installed into the head they tend to distort/misshape. After re-reaming them to get them straight more often than not the guide to stem clearance is too loose. So back to square one we go.
So on every big order we receive of our castings, we have them setup about 5-10 sets with the powder metal guides. When done this way, the clearance is correct, and we can ship a better product which is always the goal. The issue is, we get a LOT of these heads at once on each order. So our next stocking order of castings might be a month or two out from when you order. So we try to educate customers on the difference in our guides and others' guides, etc so you can make an informed decision and maybe save some waiting time as well.
The good thing about the forums is, the correct way to setup your valvetrain geometry and such can be found with a quick search. We're not the only head manufacturer in the aftermarket that installs bronze guides by default....and there are plenty of vendors who also run the bronze long-term without any problems!
Hope that helps a bit.

No sir, we will not ship them unless they're perfect....SOOOOO....unless I have a set of castings here with the PM guides already in them ready to be ported, you'll have to wait for the next run of castings to come in. The PM guide sets are typically all sold/spoken before before we receive the shipment of castings, and rarely am I fortunate enough to have extras sitting here ready to go with those guides installed.

For PM guides, I'd say about 4-6 weeks. For bronze, usually under a week.
