10 maybe. There was a picture of a graph comparing 3 cams of similar spec, the difference between the 224 and the biggest one was like 10 rwhp.

Someone will probably post that in a bit

You wouldn't have a dyno overlay pic showing both cams would you? I'd like to see lower end power and under peak numbers.

sorry to say it...but i dont think it's even worth swapping...

get something bigger if you want to upgrade

you might gain 10rw...but you will actually loose low end with less lift and bigger duration...

I wouldn't expect more than 10 peak horsepower. From what I've seen, though, it doesn't take a huge FMS cam to make really awesome power. I believe the FMS 230/232 made over 400 RWHP recently on a car without an ASP pulley through a GMMG.

Good luck!

I like the specs...I have a TR224 also and have considered swapping for a "larger" setup. I had considered a 228/232/580's lift (113+3), but like the current driveability and low end umph. Of course next week I may change my mind...

you won't loose much, but you will have to rev that cam higher than your previous to see any benefit from it...

my reasoning would be...

you old cam was lower duration, higher lift, tigther lsa...it surely made good midrange with pretty decent top end power probably topping out ~6500 rpm

your new cam with more duration, lower lift, on a higher lsa...it has a little more potential to make better upper rpm power, but will need to be spun a little higher to even see it...it would probably max out on stock heads around 6600-6500 and the peak shift point would probably be ~6700 rpm.

all in all...if you want more performance...

if you want to shift ~6600 rpm get something like a 230/230 .58X 58X 112 lsa...or...

lower lsa should make more midrange and also keep your peak power lower in the rpm range so you dont have to spin the motor as high...

if you want my opinion if you are running tea 1.5's...

get something along the lines of tsp's 231/237 if your springs are capable...

its a 231/237 .59X .59X 112 lsa...it would take advantage of your heads more than either of those cams...

i have a 228/230 .571 .573 112+2 comp cam i have for sale, but in all honesty if you can go bigger with ported heads i would do so...don't waiste what you paid for!

So what ur saying is that Iam gonna loose some more lowend and midrange power.
correct?
But gain more on the high end??
With the lobe being 113+3 is the caming going to sound alot different?
Here the cam more? Or not at much?

And well so I schould expect a 10 to 15HP increase correct?

the way these FMS cams have been lately you might only gain 10-12 peak rwhp but i'd wager you'd pick up alot of under the curve power, especially with those TEA heads. TEA/FMS seems to be a bread and butter combo.

You might get 5rwhp, might get 10rwhp, you might lose power. I don't think its really worth it unless you really like working on the car.
