What's some good choices? I'm doing a winter/spring build on my t/a, heads and cam are among the list of modifications. I'm looking to spend no more than 1000$ on heads, any ideas on what kind of quality heads I can get for that? I'll buy either used or brand new, I just need some ideas, input, and/or advise. The only heads your gonna get for under 1k are gonna be used, I would go with a set of PRCs, they are affordable great heads, and I have seen used sets on this site go for 700-900. I run the 5.3 heads stage 2.5 they are milled to 59ccs and The casting on them is 853 I believe. Hope this helps.. |

you mite find some TSP ls6 st1 heads for 1k at a X-mas sale .but you will need better springs for a nice performance cam pkg.money spent on good heads allow for alot more power.good heads & mild cam is better then cheap heads and a radical head,more better power under the curve.I say get a cam from Patrick-G ,but consider a cam/head pkg from TSP if you are on a tight budget.get a cam to meet your driving and performance needs.what rear gears do you have ? |

Rebuild the stock rockers. With the MS3 you will want some steeper gears. It's lazy down low . There are better choices. I had one in a 383 with 3.42's and a 3500 stall. It did like N2O. |
Yes while its apart put in a LS2 chain. Its only like 42 bucks so its cheap insurance. You'll definately want some steeper gears. I've got the MS4 with 410s below about 4k I can pull myself around but I'm not gonna pull ahead of anybody but once you get cranking it pulls hard to redline. Yella Terras they say are good but like he said get the trunion kit and rebuild yours thats what I'm about to do. Got the kit sitting in my bedroom lol. |

Upgrade injectors.. recommended? if so, to what? |
I'm assuming the ligther one is alumium. I've heard the aluminums can cause cam surge so I would get the 28lb or call monster and ask just for clarity on it. With heads and cam I would upgrade the injectors. I'm running a 42lb injector, they'll give you room to grow. Is your car an auto? If its a M6 I would do 410s. I'm running about 75 at 2k in 6th. I got 22 mpg on the interstate with my PRC 215s and MS4 with a mail order tune that was rich as hell. Around town I got about 15. I wouldn't mind DD a bigger cam but alot of people think they're to much. If your worried about driveability and mpg you might want to look at something smaller than the Magic stick and I've heard the MS3 loves spray. |
