Default 1.8 Rockers, will I have PTV issues with my 243's also are comp 918s ok?

I think I want a bit more cam but don't want to pull out my EPS I just installed this fall.
My cam is the EPS 226/234 113, 598/601
I have stock 243s on there. Will I have piston to valve issues?
Also will my comp 918s be ok?

The lift you have now is plenty for your stock 243's.. Adding 1.8's will up the lift, but wont change the duration, which is where PTV clearance comes into play.. If you want "MORE" cam, you need to look at more duration.. I would toss the 918's for a set of PSI beehives or a good set of duals.

I think you would be much better off just saving up for some better heads. The rockers aren't worth the effort especially on stock flowing heads.

While changing rocker ratio doesnt add duration on the seat, it absolutely changes duration after the valve leaves the seat. Typically about 2-3 degrees @.050, while not huge, it does change!

I also wouldnt ever change to a 1.8 rocker on LS engines, unless the lobe being used was designed for a 1.8 rocker. Lobes today are aggressive, and upping the ratio would most likely cause valvetrain instability. The only cam Ive seen 1.8s work well on were stock cams and lobes desinged for 1.8s

918s are perfect in this situation. Duals, while they would physically work, are not the most correct for this application.

I would invest your money into something else, then 1.8s. They won't net you much gain imo for the money. Buy a catch can instead.

I was going to mention the ramp rate as well. Listen to this guy ^. And whoever said invest in a good set of heads; I agree with that as well.

And read Sweet10's quote:

There's no short-cut to doing it right, at a minimum at least get your 243's ported, then if you still feel you want a bigger cam; then get a bigger cam!
