i see all over this site declare a came being to big for a daily driver but in my opinion i think most people live in a hell of a lot more populated city than me and wondering what you guys really think i should use for a dd considering these things, i drive 10-15 km to get to school and 10 to work than 8 back home so a total 5 days a week about 35 km witch is really not much and a little cruise later on. i live in a town with 30 thousand people and rush hour is sitting being behind 6 cars max so what do you think i should do for a head cam i am looking at 2 different ones lloyd elliot 2 and the tsp 228r i have all supporting mods fast 102 intake 92 tb exaust etc but those cams were picked from others opinions of dd what do you think? i want about 420 min in a a4 with probably a yank stall of maybe 3600? thanks

there are a gang of threads on here with the exact same question as you just asked. hit up the search box with your question.

The 228r is a good choice, as far as off the shelf cams go. Or you could contact Pat G, which is what about half of the ls1tech populace will tell you to do.

I had stock 243's and a Torquer V2 with LS6 intake and drove it everyday. It made 380 and 376 and never got to put it on a dyno after Frost tuned it. I have thought about sending a set of 241's to AI and getting the CNC program on them and be a little sneaky with the car.

AI just ported my 853s and ground me a .600 /.600 226 / 230 110LSA cam to go with them. I have not installed them in the car yet, but plan to have the beast running by April or so when the snow melts. This is not a DD for me, and is an M6, but I don't foresee any streetability issues.

The TSP 228R is the cam I would've picked if I hadn't been doing the head work, but I am not thinking you're going to see 420RWHP with that cam.

If you can survive without the car, pull the stock heads and send them to AI for porting; those guys will do you up a cam and port the heads for less than 2 grand and they are good people.

Another option is talk to TSP about your situation and see what they suggest; Jake down there was real cool with me when I was in your same situation.

A cam around high 220/or low-230 if you want over 400 for sure...heads will also be important...the better the heads you get, the smaller the cam you will be able to run to achieve 400rwhp through an a4
