Except for snow my Camaro is my DD. No issues, I even get 17mpg around town. I can get ~20 if I can keep my foot out of it, but whats the fun in that! Long trips arent an issue either, I did a 2000 mile round trip last summer without a single issue.

How often do any of you change your valve springs? Also what cams as this make a huge difference in valvetrain longevity.

Mine:
AFRs, 224/228, LM1, Yank SS3600, FLT Level 3, 3.73s, Poly Engine/Trans Mounts, UMI Poly/Rod LCAs/PHR.

Wifes:
Milled 799s, EPS 227/230, full bolt ons, Magnaflow Catback, Monster Level 2/Tick Master, RPM Level 5 T56, Stock 3.42s, Poly Engine/Trans mounts.

BOTH are driven every day, rain, or shine. I love to drive mine all the time. Its loud, and gets some road noise from the rod ends, and some vibrations from the poly bushings, but it doesnt bother me a bit. Pushing the loud pedal makes me grin every time!

My wife's car, with the Maggy catback is subtle, and refined when driving normally, but makes some noise when you lay in to it. Makes a pretty healthy amount to torque too!

I DD my car and it makes over 400 wtq and whp. I've got a 226/230 with a set of heads. It's great for a DD in my opinion. There's only a surge in the parking lots or where you're at low RPMs, but I have a standard so it's not bad to me.

The ladies like it Oh and those ******** that wanna be cool in traffic and go slow in the until you wanna pass them, well its fun seeing the looks on their face when you stomp it and cruise right on by

Zach, It sounds like you might need a little work (tuning) on your Base Running Airflow table.

Yea I don't doubt that. We just got done rebuilding the motor a couple of months back with new heads and a little bit different cam. I've been trying to get it tuned for the past couple of weeks, but it seems like most people just wanna give you the run-around.

Driveability takes the most time to tune. Hard to get it right in one sitting. Need to keep playing with it and make small changes at a time. It will come around tho.

I used to DD mine..

232/234 595/598 112, LS6 heads, FAST 90/90, M6, 3.42s..

In the rain, on Nitto 555s. The only thing that failed over time was my P.O.S. RAM Powergrip HD clutch.

I DD a H/C/I/E, drivetrain, suspension C5 FRC and a 700 whp Cobra Vert. I switch off between the 2 but every day of the week I'm in one of them. As long as you respect the power then you'll be ok.
