bearing help took apart my LS1 to freshen it up. block was honed and crank was polished. what rod bearings do i buy, main bearings, size? stock rods, stock polished crank. |
I used ACL on the mains and rods in my engine. I've used Clevite in the past and didn't really care for them. |

Ask your friendly local machinist to mic the rod journals. Then determine what clearance your engine calls for (probably .002) and go from there. |

Hello 3rd coast ,,,,,,,,,,,,I don't know how many miles You're engine/conn rods have on them but I just wanted to let You know that even without aftermarket rod bolts the rod big ends still become out of round ,,,,,say 100,000miles probably like .002" difference . The bearings I like are the King bearings but I don't believe they make rod bearings that are .002" larger outer diameter . |
