got a leaky head gasket, got some questions
i pulled my motor apart a few weeks ago and put in a cam, head studs, rod bolts, springs. i also put in cometic mls gaskets. now i have a head gasket leak and am wondering what i did wrong. this is a 2001/2002 6.0
i was carefull with the head surface, just used paper towels and brake cleaner to clean up the surface but i could have scratched it puting in the springs i guess. i used the moly lube with the studs and followed the torque directions. i didn't retorque but i dont think it said i needed to. the leak is tiny, took me weeks to even notice i was loosing coolant.
next question, standard fix would be true up the heads and put in some new gaskets? do i need to touch the block?

I think this is pretty common with Cometics. Something to do with the smoothness of the deck and head surfaces has to be just right for the Cometics to seal properly. Someone with more experience or some hard facts will chime in, but I'm pretty sure they are hard to get to seal correctly.
