How much do fully dressed LS1's go for

I have a cammed LS1 with all accessories I am going to be selling soon and I wasn't sure what range they are selling for nowadays.

$2500 sound right?

sams02Z28 Apr 3, 2012 11:41 AM

More details?! 2500 sounds alittle low unless it has high mileage or poor condition or unless you wanna give sombody a hell of a deal!!:D

loreak Apr 3, 2012 11:52 AM

55k miles out of an 01, made 400whp on dynojet. Has full double spring kit when cam was installed by mike at rapid. I was thinking 3000 but didn't want it to sit forever while I try to sell it. Thanks for the reply though

sams02Z28 Apr 3, 2012 01:26 PM

Just somthing for you to go off of..i gave 8000 for my 02 Z28 with 84000 miles an the only mod it had was a 12 bolt and it wasnt in the best condition!! I'd think you should be able to get at least that for it!!

TransamGCS Apr 3, 2012 01:32 PM

engine only

i think your talking about engine only, yeah 2000 to 2,500 is about fare try 2,500 for while and see if you get any takers

Bobby G Apr 3, 2012 02:50 PM

how many miles are on it?

88blackiroc Apr 3, 2012 04:16 PM

Shit if 2500$ is a deal motor only i got a hell of a deal on my setup. I ended up buying a whole donor car(99 z28) wrecked in the front for only 1400$

3rdCoastPowerSports Apr 3, 2012 06:30 PM

fuck that. OP your robbing yourself. A beat to shit LS1 with "unknown" miles goes for $1,500-$2,500. Do more research. an 01' with 55K on it making 400RWHP should go for at the very least $3,000 maybe even $3,500. If it were me i would ask $3,700 OBO and go from there.

badazz81z28 Apr 3, 2012 07:30 PM

FWIW, I paid $2600 for a zero mile complete LS1

Kooljames20 Apr 3, 2012 09:29 PM

I sold my 2000 ls1 with 114k miles for 1200 all it had was intake and tb no oil pan or anything like that for $1200

Rlncoalctd Apr 4, 2012 11:10 AM

Man I have one for sale complete with headers from a 04 GTO, it has a cam and 317 heads. I will take $1,000 for it. All you need his the intake of your choice...

BLK95-Z Apr 4, 2012 07:10 PM

Im picking up a 100k mile LS1 long block saturday for $425. Prices for these motors seem to be all over the place.

Rlncoalctd Apr 4, 2012 08:15 PM

Thats a steal...I should consider lowering my price.

Look what there selling for local. Some places its reallllllly hard to find a used running LS1 you can get in a few days. Someone looking for replacement motor to swap in over there blow up one, is going to have a hard time, thats why junkyard get that they get for a GTO or Fbody LS1. When you can buy a new GM replacement LS6 for a cady for SDPC (people dont want to or know about changing over parts) for the same price they get for a 70K stock 99 camaro LS1. There not many good running LS1 engines around, local I can get LS2s and LS3 easier then looking for a used LS1. There alot more of those cars getting crashed and parted out then OLD LS1 cars.
Not everyone whats to build a new motor from scratch with forged internals. A guy looking for one stock to swap as his 1st LS motor, or somone needing a motor to drive to school or work. So you can't compare what it cost you to rebuild you 3.90x bore LS1 over a few weeks, or months.

When you say complete do you mean with accessories?

baxsom Apr 7, 2012 02:15 AM

well there is a guy on corvette forum that just paid 12K for one from a dealer so you can probably bump your price up a bit and get a taker.

RezinTexas Apr 7, 2012 05:43 AM

Depends on location. I've seen them going for low $1000's in Houston many times.
