What kind of driveability do you got with your cam ???
Lets start with the basic...My setup:
-11:1 TSP 383 forged stroker(callies crank/rod,wiseco pistons,arp bolts everywhere)
-Custom cam : 240/244 .608/.612 113 lsa on 1.7 but now .615/ .619 on CC Gold 1.72 rocker
-PRC LS6 2.5 CNC Heads,PRC EHT .675 double springs
-FAST PORTED 90/90 setup with Fast 60 lbs injectors
-ARH 1 7/8 Headers/x-pipe connected to stock TI mufflers
-Misc: double timing chain, tsp ported and shim oil pump, morel lifter, manton pushrods,Spec super twin clutch,Tick adj master ect etc...
Of course i had it tune and the power at wide open is just awesome(just shy of 500whp) but the driveability is awful. It hesitate, bucking and surge like crazy.I do know that a cammed car will change the driveability but i dont have a HUGE cam...I didnt expect it to be able tu run it at 1500rpm but damn i was hoping to be able to cruise in the 1900/2000 rpm range
My main issue is i just cant drive it at a steady speed without any surge, bucking or hesitation...At any gear, any speed if im at 2000rpm steady in city or highway the car will surge, buck and hesitate a lot.Even at 2500 rpm steady in 3rd,4th,5th or 6th gear the car will still hesitate, buck and surge a lot.I mean you can really feel the car bucking, even the wife feel it and she doesnt know anything about cars.
So my questions:
-What cam do you got and how is your driveability ???
-Am i dreamin and asking too much ???
Thanks

Get a new tuner. My 236/245 in a 6.0 block will cruise at 1500rpm as long as the motor is loaded. This is without a tune for the current cam. It is tuned for the old 230/242 though

I would look for a good ls tuner these cars are easy to tune at WOT but when it comes to low rpm and drivability thats when a good experienced tuner really shines, i have a ms4 cam thats bigger than yours and don't have that much of a issue it does buck slightly at low rpms but thats cause i need different gears, what kind of gears do you have if you still have stock ratio gears that could be part of your problem as far as the bucking at low rpm you should have 3.73 or 4.10

I got a c5z with 3.42 stock gear and a close ration mn12 trans(shorter than the standard mn6 in the c5 base model).I will not change gear in this car because it would be useless.I dont care if the car is having small bucking or hesitation under 1500 rpm since i never even drive a stock car under those kind of rpm.All i want to have is some experience from members here that got some big or medium cam and if im asking to much to be able to drive steady around the 1800-1900-2000 rpm(lowest has possible would be good for long trip fuel economy ) without being shake back and forth by bucking and surging
Thanks and even tho i think that the problem has been point out ,keep the experience/comment coming with spec cam and driveability

Do you have a dyno sheet? Are you SD tuned or running a MAF?
How long did the tuner take to tune it? I bet they didnt take all that long, did it? With a setup like that, even a good tuner would take a while.
IMHO, your cam isnt even all that big in a 383. You should be able to easily putt along in the range you want to be in without any of the issues.
Ive been using Rick@Synergy for years, and here is just a couple of my personal experiences:
02 WS.6 M6: Lid/Catback/3.73s. Dyno tune gained 17rwhp, but the driveability all over was a night and day difference! It was like a whole new car. Still took him over an hour to tune it too, but damn was it worth it.
00 WS.6 M6: Full bolt ons, 231/237 595/598 112. Its a decent sized cam for an otherwise stock LS1, but it still averaged 25+ MPG, and drove around easily with no bucking or surging.
00 WS.6 M6(same car ^^): Same bolt ons, milled 799s, EPS 227/230. Smaller cam, but I can get run her down as low as around 1200rpm is slow traffic. Putt along at 1500 in 6th gear cruisin on the freeway.
My 01 WS.6 with AFR 205s, and 224/228 drives great even with a 3600 or 4000 stall too. I know these are all big cammed, but even stockish cars benefit from a quality tune!!
