does removing rocker bolt (bosses) on stock ls1 heads give greater cfm?
hey everyone im getting my heads port & polished and the shop doing it doesnt want to remove the rocker bolt bosses because they say it wont give much advantage?? or it doesnt make a big difference is that true?

i know some will disagree,but only when you start to move some big air does it really help.biggest restrictions are going to be just below the valve/bowl area and then the guide boss.just go with what the shop recommends..

Will it make a big difference? NO
But that is the trick where attention to details makes a difference here and there and eventually (looking at the bigger picture) the difference between an average porter and a specialized professional.

yeah i think i made a mistake, he cant find the valve guides either he gave me some dimensions to look up, i honestly can find them either. theyre outside diameter is .502 ands inside is .335 and legnth is 1.980????

I would seriously think about telling the shop that you changed your mind and don't want them ported at all. They obviously aren't that familar with LS heads . It could be a big mistake to move forward!!! You are much better off saving up for some CNC work from a reliable shop that knows LS stuff.
