Default 799/243 heads and Asa cam

What kind of numbers are y'all putting down with this setup just looking to gain some cheap power and still be close to stock.

Are you hell-bent on the ASA cam? There are other options out there that would be better, like a 224/224 cam, or even a 224/228 cam. What are your goals?

^^^ Good point too. Or, you could comb the classified section; many times you'll find a brand new cam for around $300 - $350.

I didn't like the hotcam cuz it sounded like I had a small miss instead of a cam when the cutouts were open I like the choppy idle of the asa cam and it has great street manners. I just wanted to know what kind of gains I can expect with Asa and 243 heads

If you didn't like the idle of the hotcam you could get the TSP 224 cam ground on a wider LSA like a 115

The ASA cam is relatively small and has great idle manners. Just because it chops hard doesn't mean it has a bad idle.

The ASA cam is a good budget cam that is easy on stock ls6 valve springs and will make great power.
