Any ProComp Motorsports LS1 head users?

flow bench
I had the same set of heads (not pro comp LS heads)
flowed on 2 different flow benches, and were over 25 cfm diffferent
on intake and ex ports.
so to see a difference from what is advertised, is no surprise.
I have a friend ( here is goes) who has run the pro comp LS head, right out of the box, instant 50+ HP increase, nothing else changed.

Agreed that you probably wouldn't put something cheap on a race car but for a budget street driven car with street sized camshafts it suits me. Besides my tv, fridge , 3d blu ray player, stereo head and speakers are all made in china and they are all fine

Well if your Chinese electronic stuff has a catastrophic failure your house probably/hopefully is protected if it's up to any recent codes but engine can need some expensive repairs if your Chinese part fails.
I just hate sending them any of my hard earned American $ when I can support my fellow Americans but sadly most of the people on here don't care where their money goes.
We still have a choice when it comes to car parts unlike so many other things.

Your asian TV as invented and developed in Asia. Your cheap chinese knock off performance part was invented and developed in America, and then copied. IMO, that's stealing. We make a big deal in theis country about downloading free music. But then we flock to stolen car parts.

This is exactly right. If your cheap chinese spring retainer fails at 5,000 rpm's, bad things will happen. The little bit of money you "saved" goes right out the tail pipe.

I now have a 13.5:1 compression 416 these are going on this week, car made 505/490 thrue stock ls6 heads. I now have these cnc pro comps all new guides, new vj, decked .065, hand ported and hoping for ATLEAST 550rwhp. My old cam was a 241/255 .624/.634 on a 110+4 and as said made 505/490 and 400rwtq by 2200rpm.
New cam is a 255/266 .624/.598 on a 109+3 running rectangle single plane and 4500 dominator tb.
My gto is a solid axle 9" with 4:11's so that may sap my power numbers some.

Update
Went and checked out the heads at the cylinder head shop today. Paul is a master with heads in my neck of the woods. First thing he said was "Jesus Christ they done a terrible job with these heads".
However, without a valve job and being bare heads, he said there's plenty of room for improvement.
Paul said that none of the ports were the same size so first thing he done was to make them all the exact same size. Then he plunge cut valve seats and done a three angle valve job with Stainless Pep-pro elite valves (Aussie made since 1985) being used.
Tomorrow Paul is going to hand blend the CNC port work and then will flow the heads once done.
Will post pics and flow results as soon as Paul's flowed heads.
The heads will be fitted to car next week

Honestly I would certainly NOT recommend anyone else buying 3017 procomp/speedmaster CNC heads at all. Yes they are crap in reality - I totally agree. And in no way do I defend procomp for making such bad quality inconsistent heads.
But as for out of the box , my last set of heads were TSP CNC ported 241's which were a lot more expensive and I still did not install them right out of the box. I sent them to my head guy who flowed them and he still managed to improve them more and he does to suit my cam specs.
I budget for $2000 all up for complete heads whether they are standard cast 243 and then ported or if they were TEA's.
and the last 3 sets I have had have all been $1900-2000.
So as long as these procomp ones end up flowing as good as the last 2 sets, I'm happy with that.
Just don't buy procomp if u want something straight out of the box and don't want to spend more $$ making them decent. PC3017 is the part number to stay clear of!!!!

We have used these heads many times but not in stock form. We use different guides, valves, springs, and of course, a different CNC program. The head casting itself is great. Nice and thick where it needs to be. Here are our flow numbers after our port job.

Agh very nice, i. The gen 3 section someone posted flow numbers for rec pro comps and yours flow mbe tree down low but up top tgey outflow these by a lot. But since it's ls3 vs cathedral that makes sense . Can you tell me what size guides your ks3 pro comps come with? 5/16 or 11/32?

The butchered set above doesn't look like any of the pro-comp CNC heads I've seen. Those look like used hand-ported heads that someone tried to pass off as something else.
All of the Pro-Comp heads I've seen locally had a full CNC port, not a casting clean-up.
