Default G5X3 w/ Comp 978 Springs

We are having a debate (at East Side) about the requirements of the G5X3 cam.

Would the G5X3 with Comp 978 springs be too much for stock LS1 lifters?

It was stated previously that the 977's would ruin the stock lifters (155 seat pressure) but will not cause valve float- which needs Comp R lifters.

Would the Comp 978's (126 seat pressure) meet the requirements of the XE-R lobes of the G5X3 WITHOUT collapsing the stock lifters? Would this combination (978's and G5X3) be prone to valve float?

Jay at AS does use the 977's with 155 seated and 440 at .600. To me that is a bit of over kill. I opted for the 978's which are I believe 125 seated. He must have a reason for using the 977's with the larger cams. He's way more smarter than me. What size cam are you using?

I believe a few people had some float issues with that combo.(978/X3) I opted for the 977's/comp R lifters myself, when I purchased the X3. I now have a cam bigger and just as aggressive as the X3 with the Patriot golds. We'll see what happens. I've been told it will be fine.

Are Comp R's a necessity with the 977's? I kind of thought you had better use them since the spring pressures are so high.
