Default Is this a hole in my oil pan???

I was in he process of changing my oil pan gasket today and i took my oil pan to examine it and clean it out and seen this hole and thought it too could also be the reason i was having a small oil leak bu it seems to be covered up by an oil filter when installed. Is this normally there or should i be searching for a new pan?? Thanks.

I would be more worried about what made the hole! Any more pics?

So they tapped your oil cooler adapter? Do you have anything hooked up to that piece next to your filter?

No nothing was tapped that I know of. I just bought the car 8 months ago and just really started digging Into it. So that hole shouldn't be there correct?

Whats the issue? Can we get better pictures of the suspected bad area? Looks normal to me.

Also just to be sure that's how the gasket looked upon disassembly? Or did the rubber detach from the gasket metal when you were pulling the gasket off the pan?

That's normal, they all look like that. It is not a leak source.

The hole to the front is how "dirty" oil gets into your oil filter.. The hole to the rear is the filtered oil from the oil filter.

Yeah, One hole will go in the center of the filter, the other will be in the main area. Both covered and enclosed by the oil filter.
