As the title states, what are your guys opinions on this cam? (238/240 .605/.607 112lsa) Im currently running it in my 04 gto. Basically stock with a few bolt ons. I have a fast 92 setup and AI ported 243s waiting to be installed. Ive read older posts where people have had mixed thoughts on this cam because of its size. Im hoping with the new heads and intake setup, it will really wake this cam up but just wondering what you guys think

What are you going to do with this car?

Not going to be the best for a DD, or at least not for me.

6 speed with stock gears. its a street car only. never seen a track and probably never will. its not a dd. im lucky if i put 1500 miles on it a year. keep in mind ive had this cam installed for almost 4 years now. Ive never had an issue with it. im just wondering if the mods i have waiting to be installed will wake this cam up or if im still pissing in the wind.

Note: Its not that im dissatisfied with the cam, its gets me looks and compliments all the time. I threw the cam in before i really did my research. Gave up a ton of low end power but it runs pretty decent up top. (Current mods are: pacesetter longtubes, catless mids, slp, k&n intake) Last resort is swaping cams. Thats why im want to try ported 243s and a fast setup. Kind of build around the current cam. Just looking for some criticism and opinions.

you have great heads and intake .maybe you need a better cam or intake .

Well doing the heads and intake probably won't help your low end power much at all, but from the mid range on it will big time

Ill get everything I have installed and see where that gets me. Next step would be a set of gears to try and make up for the loss in the low end. Once I get everything installed and tuned, ill post pics and numbers. Im hoping to not be disappointed in numbers

I ran that cam on my Z28 and made 399/37x w/4.10 gears and a six speed with a fast 90/90 setup , stock 853 heads and shorty edelbrock headers , a Diablo predator handheld Tune..lol. It was my DD with that cam for 3years and then sold it. It is still running the same setup to this day six years later..New owner Loves it too.

Add some 4.10's or 4.30's and with that AI 243's A good tune that should wake the car up!

Its common knowledge that AI has great head/cam packages. Why not call 'em and give them your goals and let them provide a PROVEN setup with theirs heads. Its really a NO BRAINER !!!
