Lq4 forged rods n pistons?
Hello everyone,
I have an lq4 with unknown miles. Plan on changing the rods and pistons. I will hone the cylinders. I am also going to be running stock L92 heads. I'm not sure on cam yet.
So question is what are a good budget forged rod and piston combo???

If you are upgrading rods and pistons to forged then I would suggest some research into the power capability you need. That will determine your budget. Also what head ( l92) so you will need to keep piston to valve clearance in mind as those huge valves ( not optimized for your bore) will also require research. If your plan is a high rpm race engine those heads wil be great.

Well with a hone the lq4 can be roughly estimated at 4.005. the L92 heads with a proper cam should make a great combo. Especially with the Vic jr intake and accufab 4 brrl TB.
It is going to be a street car, in the 550+ rwhp range. A 125 shot of n2o

I would go with some Wiseco pistons and Scat I beam rods for a budget setup.
