Default 243 truck heads on 2000 stock ls1

Can i use the stock 2008 truck 243 heads and springs on My camaro 2000 ls1 stock cam???? Or i need use other springs?.

Why would you do heads though and retain the factory cam?

^^^What he said....I would probably have a machine shop clean them, check'em out and perhaps take a few thousandths off, but should be fine....

I would consider doing a cam, since you going through the trouble of installing heads, but it should work just fine.

I will install a cam on a copule months, it's just that as I have here the heads, headers intake lid and ls6 intake,

and I have nothing better to do jajajaja

IMO if you have a budget for a cam I would just wait out the Couple months and do everything once. But since you have the time Go for it and just save up for another set of gaskets ,bolts, lifters, pushrods etc etc.

You could change the springs now, it is much easier with heads off.
