Default How much power can a forged 346 handle?

I am weighing all my options right now and picking whats the best road for me. I was looking at the 347 cheap street from ape and was wondering if this shortblock will be ok for around 650-700rwhp. Im wanting to do a big h/c setup w/ 90mm lsx intake and a dual stage of nitrous first stage being 75 shot and the 2nd stage being a 200 shot. Plan on spraying these 2 stages seperate and not together. So how well do yall think this shortblock would hold up to a 200 shot of nitrous? thanks guys

If you're looking at a motor from APE, I suggest you call and ask them. They'll be able to give you the most accurate answer.

Funny you mention that; I just got an APE 347 and will be spraying a dual stg. 200 shot (100+100) making roughly the same power#'s you described above.

They told me that should be no problem whatsoever. Talk to the guys over there; they'll hook ya up!

My forged 348ci is handling 720-746rwhp with an unlocked T400 and a Ford 9" rearend, for the dynoholics that's 800rwhp with an M6.

Block is designed for 600hp. Anything above that is a guess.

A "seasonned block" LS1 will handle way more than that and it is no guess, it is a fact.
Some have gone beyond 1000rwhp, so 600>700 is a piece of cake.
The LS1 block is stronger than the LS6. With a nitrated crank, H-rods,, coated forged pistons, you can do those #'s all day. Head studs are a must.

It is all in the machining.

"The LS1 block is stronger than the LS6."

Please explain. I thought the LS6 block was supposed to be far stronger than the LS1 block.

well 90% of the time the car will be running all motor id just be throwing in the nitrous when i ran into the big dogs. Right now around where i live there are not very many big dogs. so you can say it will be around 450rwhp 90% of the time and 6% of the time around 525 and 4% of the time it will be around 650rwhp.

The LS6 has oil passages that lubricates the crank bearings where the LS1 doesn't, that is the major advantage of the LS6. However for weight saving purposes oval ducks were integrated (Non existant in LS1) which makes the LS6 more prone to cracking under "extreme load" (800fwhp and above)
