Where to buy LS1 hot cam only?
I'm looking to do a small cam right now until I take the motor out and build it. I'm already going to have LS6 valve springs installed. Where I can I buy just the hot cam not in a kit? Is there a GM part number for it?

Until I actually pull the motor out and build it I just want a little more power and some bump when its idling without having to do expensive valve springs and pushrods or extensive tuning.

I'm not pulling it just to do valve springs and pushrods, I'm not pulling it at for a while. When I do I'm going to rebuild it, do pistons, ARP rod bolts, heads and a more radical cam. I'm looking for an LS1 hot cam right now just for a time being deal.

Hell I have been looking to do a Hot Cam or ASA cam for a while now. Trying to find an affordable used one is a frickin' nightmare! The only Hot Cams that seem to show up any more are the cheap e-bay regrinds. Seems like you used to be able to score a legit GM Hot Cam for about $150. I have had WTB threads all over the web on numerous forums and still can't seem to find a good used one, so unless you want to pony up about $350-400 for a new one, good luck!

Exactly. The only real drawback is that the LS6 springs will need to be upgraded with just about any cam other than a super small baby cam. That makes the price of your cam swap go up in a hurry. I guess thats the beauty of the Hot Cam/ASA is that you can get away with LS6 springs.

Don't know how much LS6 springs from Summit are but Fred Beans Parts has LS6 springs new 4 $59 . There's a retailer called Alex's Parts that has pretty good deals on engine parts like p-rods .080" wall 5/16" hardened in many lengths 2 choose from 4 $80 and I've seen pretty good deals there on different aftermarket springs . WS6 store has good prices and Tick Performance will price match the cheapest price You can find.

I've read where you can use stock pushrods with the hot cam but what about the ASA?
