Yea still running them. Preload seemed fine. I didn't check it but nothing was obviously out. Could've maybe used a little shorter push rod but you would be splitting hairs. The valvetrain is quiet as stock.
Look at the results through the middle bud. As much as 10hp and 10 tq. That's across the board. Stock idle and well over 400hp. Pretty good imo. The closer you get everything optimized the harder they run too. There's always something some one could do to gain more power. But that was not my goal. Fine tuning what I have was my goal. There are plenty of cammed ls6's that don't make the power my stock cammed one does......figure that one out.

Not tryin to knock your set up bro, over 400 at the wheels with stock cam is good but in my book $300+ rockers=10hp and $400 cam=25-50hp...that's all I was trying to say...the reason people ask questions is to get opinions, so I gave mine...not trying to get in a pissing contest just saying what I think which is why this forum exists...
OP I see what ur saying to do rockers before you get a cam/heads setup installed..makes sense...

Yessir just goin through the valvetrain and just putting in stronger pieces. Ive always started with valvetrain as its really surprising to a lot of folks how much you lose due to deflection and loss of stability. We use to see it quite a bit on our spintron

Take op for instance. To put a replace the cam in his car to get any kind of gain he would probably need to go to a .600 lift cam or better. That would require a spring change for him and cost more. The rockers would require no spring for him and end up getting decent across the board results. You look at peak power to much. I'll take 10hp/10tq and 5 at peak any day over a cam that may actually lower tq and only give me 25-30 at peak.

This isn't even considering someone who would take it in to have a shop do the work. Take the labor into consideration and the rocker swap becomes a very attractive option.

But real world I've seen the Harland sharps not fit...and he was un happy with jegs...drove wildcamaros Z with the cam and you can't even compare the two apples and Oranges but I guess its all in what ur looking to gain which won't be much with rockers.

I have not had any trouble with Harland Sharp rockers. They been on my car for years.
With that said I have seen broken ones. But that car had alot of spring on it. I run beehives with no issue.

Your car so rocks... Extremely impressive for a crate motor. I want to do these rocker change, I am running a stock 383 ls6 set up, 5 lbs with a p1sc on it.
Soon with a f1a going on. The motor dynoed 454 hp and 494 ftlbs on 9.0 compression. That was with a 750 carb on the dyno. I am sure now the motor has broken in, that I have more power now. It feels a lot faster. But god damn, your car is flying for a ls6 347. It goes to show you, what years of tunning does. I am sure I will pick up 20 to 30 hp by running these rockers. Speedmaster looks like a nice set. I don't want to change the cam. I love the ls6 cam, but I know I should have more lift. I love the drivability also, the car is so quiet, so docile, untill I hit it. I like it like that. Your car is a sleeper that's for sure. Just wow!
