Is a 2.120 flycutter too big for a 346?
Just like the title says. Is a 2.120 flycutter too big for a 346? I have 2.02 valves and it seemed like the recommended radial clearance is .050 so that's why I ordered a 2.120, but now after reading some other threads I'm second guessing myself.....
I had a conversation with Brian Tooley and I could have sworn he said he uses the 2-1/8 (2.125) ISKY cutters with the flycutter setup he rents out, but I'm just looking for some confirmation.
I did ask this in another thread but I didn't get a clear-cut answer.
Thanks guys.

Afterwards I just saw some threads of people (using bigger valves with sandpaper) saying 2.05 or 2.08 is the most they would cut because of danger of getting too close to the upper ring land.... Then again I'm only going to cut .050-.060 deep, and the Lindy cutter has that chamfered edge so I would doesn't really go that deep on the outer radius.

I will obviously take things VERY slow with the first piston or two though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if your cutting at TDC you would have to break through the side of the piston and maybe even the bottom before you touched the wall, and at that point wouldn't the cutter not even fit in the head??
