What CAM is making BIG numbers??
I just bought some ARE Stage 2 heads for my dad's car. What came do you guy think would be best? He has everything stock. I'm going to put headers, LS6 intake, cam, and heads on it. The heads are 11.1 CR What cam do you think would be best for a daily and drag? Of coures he wants all the power he can get out of it.
I rember reading about Fastech F1 cam 230/226 591/565 112 made 20RWHP over the LG's G5. Does any one know anything about the Thunder T-Rex Cam?

The G5X-3 or other G5x cams with stock heads DO NOT have to be fly cut. Only with modified heads will it be necessary. Our G5X-3 cam in a Z06,EWP, no belts and a fast 90mm with our 90mm tb did 503rwhp/452rwtq with a stock bottom end, never apart. And just last week our G5X-3 cam only package with headers, pulley, and stock muffler on a Z06 did 431rwhp 413 rwtq. same cam as the 503, but without the heads and other mods.
Then the 431 car put the 90mm manifold and tb with full belts and pulled 447rwhp, and 458 with no belts.
The car idles like factory at 950rpms with a little lope and has perfect drivability.
what more can you ask for Check out the Video and graph
graph below is with G5X-3 cam, Pulley, LG 90mm throttle body with Fast90 intake, LG Pro Long Tube 1 3/4" headers and X pipe, with full exhaust system Stock Z06 heads (never off the engine). Still NO HEADS.

We have been having extremely good luck with the TReX cam lately. This cam DOES NOT require flycutting when used with stock LS1 heads. I have a completed a few of these cam only setups recently and have been very pleased with the power output and driveability after some tuning.
Here are a couple threads to take a look at, all with stock LS1 heads:
451/408 with stock rear, 3.42s gears: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...highlight=TReX
434/387 with 12-bolt, 4.56 gears: https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/166035-ok-guys-finaly-got-my-final-trex-numbers.html
I just finished another install of the TReX this weekend. The car has all the bolt-ons, TH350/5000 stall, 5:13 gears, and 30" slicks. It is primarily a track only car. On a high-mileage '98 LS1 shortblock and stock '98 heads, it put down 400rwhp/486rwtq unlocked! Very impressive considering the drivetrain this car has.
We have yet to use the FAST 90mm intake and TB on these cars, but are hoping to do so in the near future. I would expect a solid 10hp gain on setups simliar to those listed above.
For info and pricing on this cam, take a look at Thunder Racing's website:
