Should I build up a stock ls6 for boost or find a 4.8 or 5.3 for boost? I think the extra weight will throw off the balance of the cts-v since it will be a car to take on the track (not strip). forged pistons and rods will go in regardless of lsx or iron block. I would prefer to use the stock ls6 block and boost to about 800-900 whp. if not then ill go iron block. Also I was going to go with a 3.6 or 4.2 PD SC or f-1 procharger. any input would be great. thanks!

I know what you mean by overheating. What is weird though is that D3 only offers PD superchargers for their cts-v's...which is off since they are a real circuit racing focused brand...So is the procharger choice adequate? or should I go bigger?

Unless you've got a really open track, FI is not usually good for road racing. It's more about the setup than just raw power.
I would get a nice stroker kit for the LS6, build it up to run some revs and have a much more reliable car than one with a big procharger on it.
The centri would work better than the PD.
