Default Valve Spring Babysitting, how bad could it be?

If I throw a mild cam/valvesprings in a DD and drive it 75k miles without babysitting valvesprings, how bad would it be *when* a spring breaks?

Is it a guaranteed serious gig, or is it, say, 75% chance it'll be an easy repair? Looking for someone who has seen a bunch of these break and what the "usual" outcome is.

The car's not real nice, high mileage dinged up TA, I tend to drive the hell out of my DD's.

Looking to get my DD at least a little closer in HP to near where these newer cars are (new Camaro, Coyote Mustangs) but not be babysitting the valvesprings every 60 days (I drive maybe 40k per year). Since I murder the value of the cars with the mileage it's not worth burning a lot of cash on them.

anything from nothing happening to full grenadation of your engine. usual is a popped piston and a fucked up head/bore.

If you can't afford upkeep you can't afford to mod it.

I don't know about babysitting valve springs...? Get a quality VS on there. My Brian Tooley Platinums were excellent, with no signs of fatigue a year later.

I bought my springs at harbor freight. They lasted 700,000 miles so far.

Talk to a vendor you trust and accept swapping springs 1-2 times a year if you really are putting on 40k

If it has an A4 transmission then get a higher stall TC first (3000-3600), then run a set of PAC 1211X valve springs (shimmed within .05" of coil bind) with a GM ASA cam and that might last a year.
