Default 5.3 with flat top pistons valve clearence??

New build, 5.3 bored to 3.898 with flat top pistons and using my 5.3 heads there p&p with 2" valves im looking to up compression with this build my main concern is piston to valve clearence im going to be running a vinchi trucker high lift 216/224 lift .585 lift anyone done a similar build ? any comments welcome

Depends on how much you mill the heads (if at all), but you should be fine. The 5.3L heads with a 2" valve has comparable clearance to the stock LS1 head. But that cam is pretty small.

I'd measure to be safe.

yea no milling unless the machine shop says i need it but i checked and everything checked out yea cams not big just wanted a second opinion with do u think compression will be around?

Depends on what the 5.3L heads check out to. When you had the 2" valve put in there did you do a 3-axis valve job? 5? Usually, that opens up the chamber a bit from 61cc to 62-63cc. That would put compression pretty close to 11:1 with stock gaskets.

5 angle i think when i had them checked it was 63cc im guessing 11:1-11:3? thanks for your responce

GM gasket it would be 10.9 and with a Cometic .040" it would be 11.2 assuming the piston is out of the hole .007".
