Trick flow as cast 220's Redoing my top end. Trick flow as cast 220's milled to 63 cc combustion chambers. (10:9 CR)ls6 intake with ported throttle body and Tick Performance sns stage 3 cam, 36lb injectors, and all the other goodies to go with it. What you guys think? Who's running the trick flow as cast 220's? Bored waiting on parts. Lol |
Sounds good to me :) |
cant go wrong with Trickflows. Once I get the car fund built back up from the big christmas hit, Ill be going with Trickflow as cast 220s hand worked by Brian Tooley as well as a port matched FAST 102 also done by Tooley along with a custom cam from him. Going on top of my forged 347. |
Yea didn't have the funds for Brian's touch up or the fast but the 220's leave a lot of growing room! |
Oh yeah, they will be great heads like they are man. Let us know what it puts down when you get it all installed. |
Will do in time as I have hp tuners pro I'm gonna tune it myself but I am very new with it but, do plan to put it on the dyno. |

Yea thats my plan and have tooley do some work on them |
Maybe I'm biased... Trickflow 220cc heads are the best bang for the buck out there. i.e. I put down 440/403 with minimal bolt-ons and 1-3/4" long tubes. The guys who built & tuned the motor are masters of their trade, though. I was told the heads would give up another 10whp or so after cleaned up. I opted out due to the high cost/hp. |
Like I said these heads have a lot of growing room. Their right there with fully ported 243 heads, but later down the road with a cnc they will be far superior than any factory casting with a cnc. |
Ive got a set that ive just bolted on that were sent to TEA. Im assuming they just did a lil more valve work to them, cuz the runners are still as cast. Ive got a tooley spec cam to go with them. So I cant wait to see how it does. |
Let us know how works out! I'm putting mine on as cast. |
I bought the 225's from brian.... straight forward guy and he will do all he can to help someone |
Do the stock rockers need to be replaced with these heads? |
You can have them take the bronze valve guides out and replace them with powder metal guides, and then the stock rockers will work fine. This is what I did. |
Ill be doing that as well |

The SBE LS1 record on my dyno so far is held by these heads with some polishing from Brian Tooley. |

Gonna be hard to compare as I use a Dyno Dynamics rather than the number happy dynojets. But it was 446rwhp and don't recall the TQ numbers. To give an indication of power cam only LS1's with full bolt-ons Fast intake etc normally pulls around 375-385hp. |
