Looking to run mid 11's?

Just picked up the following for my build. My goal is low-mid 11's and 430+ rwhp if possible. Not too worried about the horsepower since it'll be a stalled auto. What size cam? I was thinking a torquer v2 type cam. Lots of mid range power. Give me your suggestions!

799 heads. - going to get them milled and a valve job

Hd-2 shift kit

3200 Circle D pro series single disc converter

What's on the car now:

Long tubes

ORY

Cutout

Lid

Ls6 intake

get the heads ported if you want to make your goal for sure, it's a lot of effort to swap heads just to put nearly stock ones back on...plus you will probably end up wanting more and pulling them to get ported later anyway, do it the first time and be done

What's the weight of the car

Port the heads for sure. From what I've heard the torque v3 is an all around better cam than the v2. Why not get the v3 and step the stall up to a 3600? That should definitely get you well into the 11s.

I used to run the Torquer 2, and it had good all around power...especially in the mid range. If the car is full weight low to mid 11's are very doable, but you're gonna have to hook pretty hard to do that

I would start with a 4k+ convertor. With 799's you won't need a very large cam to see mid 11's. it's been done numerous times with just bolt-ons though..

big stall and gears makes your goal alot easier .the torquer v3 makes a little more power ,but needs better springs .people have run 10s with unported heads .pick the parts you feel comfortable with ,and pick the cam last to best suite your total combo.

I dd my car so I feel the 3400 stall is the perfect size. I'm just going to get the heads milled with a valve job for now.! And 3.73 gears soon too!!

Realistically, with what you plan to do and no weight reduction high 11's might be a better goal to shoot for. That's with the car hooking up.

High 11's would be great lol I'm down for that

Don't know if you've ever had the heads off with the motor in the car but between the amount of work and pain in the ass involved and the cost of the milling, valve job, head bolts, head gaskets, and fluids it isn't even worth swapping them on unless you already have to pull them for some other reason.

Still haven't stated the weight but its plenty of cars on here that run those times and faster with a yanks ss3600 or circle d 3600c stall 3.73 or higher gear with vrx4,streetsweeper ht,eps 230/234.i think the best mods for these cars and price is stall and gears,I no of 3 on here that has bolt ons and a yank ss4000 running those times

If i'm reading everything right you defiantly on the right track.I say send your 799 heads to AI to have them ported. You can consult with phil at AI or the cam guru martin at tick performance to spec you out a cam that will work with your heads and setup. Then you can look into a underdrive pulley, gears and tires.
Being your a automatic your 11.5 goal is really easy to get to.You have to be patient and pick the right parts the first time.
