Default Best Street Oil Pan For 4th Gen F-Body ???

Guys,

What is the best "Street" oil pan for a 4th Gen F-Body with an LS stroker motor ?

I've heard a lot of complaints about the stock F-Body pan . . . What are my options, without getting into ground clearance problems. The car is not lowered and never will be.

Thanks !

Stock pan and improved racing baffle. Or the new Holley Pan with the improved racing baffle.

What issues have you heard? Clearancing the windage will be necessary with a stroker...

Moroso alum

Had one was really nice. Good baffle and pick up location. Extra capacity. Never saw loss of oil pressure on launch.

The issues I have heard about say the pickup location causes problems and the sump not having enough capacity, especially if a high-volume oil pump is used.

Then use the Holley. That's what I'll probably use.

Tim,

Was that in a 4th Gen F-Body or the Mustang in your signature ?

In the mustang. It fits a 4th gen.

I have a steel moroso now due to changing the k member and it would not fit. The alum was nicer.

the holley pan has maybe 1/2 a quart extra capacity. then they use the Improved Racing baffle. Thats a lot of money when all you really need is the stock oil pain and the baffle. saves you $400.

I don't think the pan in that link will fit the 4th gen F-Body due to steering rack clearance issues.

However, Holley's newest pan should work: http://www.improvedracing.com/baffle...pan-p-443.html

That said, adding our oil pan baffle to the factory pan will solve those problems, but we don't really recommend using a high-volume oil pump.

Looks like that pan won't work with a stroker . . .

"NOTE - Oil pan #302-2 may not be used with LS7 engines or "stroker" engines greater than 3.62".

I'm looking for increased capacity with ground clearance . . .

Thanks for the link, anyway !
