CNC'd LT4 flow numbers.. This isnt LS1 related but these are a really nice set of heads that MTI did about 4 years ago that i just had new valves put in. The heads were completed yesterday. I had them flowed at lunch today by a friend. 4.030 bore on a Superflow 1020 bench. The heads have Manley 2.02 intake valves and 1.60 exhaust valves. All cylinders were within 5-6 cfm of each other.. ----Intake Exhaust .200--143--110 .300--207--147 .350--232--163 .400--253--178 .450--270--187 .500--282--194 .550--285--201 .600--286--206 .650--288--210 From what ive seen i have a monster set of heads. Which is why my car has always been so strong with a measly HOTCAM. 4.030 Bore 4.00 Stroke 408 cid With the head flow numbers and my engine size anyone wanna recomend a Cam? |
Here's the set of TEA S3 LT1's we just got for a customers 383 we're building. Same bore flowed as u. .100.....67.9/58.9 .200.....135.7/114.8 .300.....192.2/160.7 .400.....238.7/203.9 .500.....275.0/227.2 .550.....280.4/234.4 .600.....283.1/240.9 |
Wow do you have pics of the exhaust ports. What size valves? How are they getting 30 more cfms than mine? |
Call TEA ;) |
Gotcha |
Mike, They use a pipe on the exhaust ports hwen testing they will tell you the same thing. They said it simulates headers ETC... Jeff |
I was told by a few reputable people here that there high exhaust #'s are from their flow bench. I'm not bashing at all and in Know way am i saying there heads are bad, just that there flow #'s through the exhaust are rated high and if they were flowed on a different bench they would be lower |
Does any one know the stock flow numbers of LT1 and LT4 heads? |
The reason the exhaust numbers are high at TEA is b/c they are flowed with a pipe. |
Mine were flowed with a open exhaust port.. |
