Default Sealed power lube on cam, good enough?

Hi,

Is Sealed power assembly lube good enough for the camshaft? It is Federal Mogul`s brand.
I know our engines don't need the cam lubed but it will take 2 weeks until I start it up.

I don't really have access to other lubes for the time being.

Also I only changed cam and springs. Do I need to prime the pump? I was thinking of priming it with short bursts of the starter, no spark plugs installed.
I was also thinking of taking a syringe used for printers and injecting oil in the pushrods.

So do I need to use assembly lube if I don't plan on starting it in two weeks or is oil good enough. I could use the starter though but I won't have the radiator installed yet so I won't be able to run the engine.

The assembly lube will work fine. The roller cams don't really need it on the lobes, but it's a good idea to lube the bearing journals.

As long as it's oil or an assembly lube. The Sealed Power stuff should be perfectly fine.

I would not use just any old lube, like lithium grease for example. That stuff doesn't belong in an engine.

ok thanks, yes it is an assembly lube. I just read a few things on the net that made me feel like that stuff was not the best. I know there are better products but as long as it will do, it`s ok for me

Lube that thing up, stroke it real good, and shove it in. You are fine!

ok, I am going to talk dirty to my car. Maybe the install will be easier. Now that I think of it, I always talk dirty to her and then things go for the better.
