Default Oil In Intake - LQ4 - See Pics

I just started to pull some of my LQ4 down to prep for the cam swap. When I pulled the intake off, I noticed oil on the gaskets and head. You can also see that it has had oil in the intake and the intake ports on the head for a long time. Is this normal for a LQ4; or is this thing burning oil?

Normal... Its from the PCV. Install a catch can in to the PCV system during reassembly. Does this motor just have the 1 (single) hose from the valve cover to the throttle body ?

It has one hose on the right side that goes from the valve cover to the throttle body; and the PCV hose on the left side that goes to the top of the intake.

So you want to put the catch can in the 2nd one you mentioned, between the PCV and top of intake.

So run the PCV hose to the catch can; then a hose from the catch can to the intake?

I have seen catch cans with two inlets; should I go ahead and run the other hose to it as well, or just leave it alone?

Whatever can you buy will come with instructions and hoses. Just plug em in as directed.
