Flow numbers are a lot LESS the measure of a head than people think. Might be great, might be ruined or anything in between. If that price includes cores it may well be worth the gamble, or at least try to find a running engine result. |
Yep that price is good for the heads, and no core is required. Don't know anyone that has them, so hoping to get some info from guys on here. |
Please buy these and do a apples to apples dyno. We would all love for you to be the Guinea pig. LOL If they make good power that is by far the best deal I have ever seen on a set of heads, much less 243's. I spend a lot of time budget part shopping. Please keep us updated. |

I agree that you shouldn't really be basing your opinions on how good they are from the flow numbers. Those can really vary and even in an apples to apples flow comparison they don't always produce similar power. Given that those are a no-name porter and with stock springs, I would probably pass at that price. You can easily find name brand ported heads on here used for around that price, which at least you know will perform. If those were say $6-700 I would take the chance, but not for $1200+ when you consider the need for new springs. |
On paper they look alright. I would want to see the flow numbers after .600 though and what the minimum cross sectional area of the port is. |
For 2 grand you could go with some nice heads from a reputable name and/or porter. |

Those midlift flow numbers look weak. I'm guessing they hog it out to hit 310cfm @ .600 and the midlift suffers. |
I have a set of stock 243's and he said he would cnc mine for 400, but still, I'd be out around $300 for springs. Oh well, so much for finding a diamond in the rough.. |

$400 can't cover decent valve job, milling, cleaning, guide clearance checks and quality CNC work. Just because someone can make a machine wave a tool around does not mean it is good work. |
I guess I'll be the test dummy since no one else wants to! For $400 plus another $100 for the valve job, I may try them. Gotta be better than stock 243 wouldnt ya think!? |

Do you know enough to be able to evaluate? Seen lots of good reviews of bad products over the years because the owner was inexperienced and didn't know what good actually was till later. |

Why? How much is there to gain with good flow at .650 and above? Port shape influences laminar flow and if the shape is incorrect turbulence will occur and normally this happens at lifts around or above .600 with stock casting LS heads. |
