I would shoot us an email over and speak with Martin Smallwood. He knows everything you need to know about cam setups and can steer you in the right direction. Just send over an email to support@tickperformance.com and Martin will answer any question you have.

Yes it's a LQ9, I don't want a LQ4. The LS1 is long gone. I have a LQ9 in there now, that mysteriously locked up for some reason.
Didnt read the entire thread, but just wait until you get the transmission first.

What would be a good stall? A local guy is selling a 3600 for a l60, for the $300. Not sure the brand.

FTI, Circle D, PTC...all top notch stuff.

I personally have a FTI 3800 and it is amazing how well it drives and hits hard. Shift extension is good, on the 2nd to 3rd change @ 6200 rpm, the motor only drops back to 5k.

I can not answer your question clearly without more info....a used 3600 stall for 300 could be a good or bad deal depending on what it is.

I was talking about the stall itself.

Again need more info..stall speed is only a small part of the equation. Stall speed, stall torque ratio(str), size(9.5, 10, 12"), anti ballooning plates, billet front cover, are all important things that need to be considered.

Generally speaking, a 3600 stall speed is good for a LS1 if that is what you want to know.

exactl a 3600 stall is generally a good stall speedd for an ls motor. however you can have a really shitty 3600 or an awesome one. without knowing the brand or specific specs on the stall its hard to say. str rate( torqure multiplication) stator, balloon plate, billet cover all effect strength, driveability, and most importantly efficiency. a good stall should never cost you mph at the track perhaps even increase it. but cheap ineffiicient ones will drop your mph

Okay... the TC the guy has is a 3600 TCI. I asked for the PN, but since it was already in the car, he might not know it.

I would stay away from a street TCI converter personally.

ya stay away from tci. If you want to spend less coin you can pick up a 3200 from circle d for 399 which is a good budget option. if not then look for a used fti, circle d, yank etc here in the classifieds. they usually go for around 4 bills

Edge is good "budget" converter, I think $525ish always been happy with them myself, on my third for varying combos.
