So to update:
-Found a buddy locally that wants to trade for his Fast 90 ported by vengeance racing. (I have to add a little cash of course) He's also hooking me up with some 7.4 pushrods and some BTR .660 valve springs.
-Also might have a buyer for my heads
- I called FTI to see if my converter could be flashed higher, but it's a 9.5" converter, so it's not even worth sending off. The best they could give me is 4200...only 200 rpm higher than I'm already at.
-I'm debating giving MWC a call for a tubular K member...but that has to wait for tax return time. It'd be worth it though.

More progress in tearing it down. Pulling the cam this weekend so I can trade it to my buddy. Bottom picture is me mocking up my new regulator setup. I'll build a bracket for it to mount on the shock tower. The lines can be bent slightly to fit.

"and I don't start worrying about injectors sticking until just past 100%. " Huh??

Maximum injector duty cycle I've seen is 106%...I haven't personally seen it in Hptuners, but with past experience tuning Subaru's. From what I've read and had experience with, most recommend to stay below 80% for safety concerns to keep them from sticking open. I don't worry about it as much. I've had good luck running stock injectors on my old Legacy GT to 106% and no issues. I know at that point I need new ones...and I did plan on installing a set I had laying around, just never got to it.

I just read your signature. Just clarifying. Is it different with Hptuners? Either way...I don't think a cam and intake require injectors if the stock flowrate is 28#.

Edit: Just did some reading. I've been spoiled. I never tuned on ls1 stock injectors, only the green top 42#'s. It's the same here as it was before for me. The goal is 80%, but you can push up to and over 100%. Like I mentioned above...I don't think I'll max these injectors out.

I learned something. lol

I'm a novice tuner and refuse to touch anyone else's car. I can only point the blame at myself if it doesn't work out.

All deppends on how much power the setup is making, which is going to dictate the fueling requirements.

Almost time to start swapping back to the ls1...
Donor motor is coming home with me tomorrow to get cleaned up and swap the new cam in. Today I finally got my old cam out of the LQ4 to trade. Can't wait for the tax return.

Update:
Motor is in my garage on a stand
Cam trade is done
I'm keeping my injectors (didn't have any stock ones laying around)
BTR 660's bought (came with a set of 806's)
Pushrods
Traded my intake for fast (I put cash on top for it, the 806's and pushrods)
I'll be swapping it out whenever my schedule aligns with my buddy

I'm close...it should run within the next week or so.
-valve springs are done
-cam will be swapped today or tomorrow
-car is getting trailered over to a buddy's house for the swap

The snow here has kept me from doing anything major. I was debating on whether or not to put my melling high volume pump on the new motor. I already have the ls2 timing chain, so I have to pull it off anyway. I might as well clean it and throw it on the ls1.

The weather still hasn't cleared up, but this car won't finish itself. Melling oil pump and ls2 timing chain are finally removed...holy crap that sucked. I was hugging the block while using a ratcheting wrench to lower the pan. Not a fun job with the motor still in the car and the headers still bolted up.

Not sure if I'll get to the cam swap today. I'm going to pick up my new (to me) Sierra. My Silverado has been good to me, but having a son on the way means I need a crew cab. 2 car seats in an extended cab would suck. It's even white to match the Trans Am.

When are you planning to make the track again? So what heads are on it? 241s? cam specs? How much are you going to spray?

Well...I got the motor out...and had an epiphany. I'm just gonna turbo this car... I added up what I have in this setup and what a basic turbo setup would cost me, and it really isn't that bad. I'm just gonna put an on3 78mm kit on it. Nothing crazy for now, but the kit has everything in one place.

The heads are 241's. I'll try to have it out at the track by May or maybe even the end of April. I thought I was gonna wait until the end of the season to turbo it, but I miss boost from my previous car.

This has to be the worst thought out build thread ever on tech. Good read though.

Things didn't exactly go as planned. It doesn't help that my best friend got his turbo camaro up and running here recently.

Surely there's been someone who couldn't make up their mind worse than me though...lol
