Best valves on a budget?

So I just got a set of 243 cylinder heads (bare). I have a stock set of ls1 valves that I got for cheap, but was wondering if I would see any real gains by trying to find a set of LS6 valves or going aftermarket. I know the LS6s are lighter and dissipate heat better, but finding them is next to impossible. Would I be leaving much (if anything) on the table by sticking with stock valves? I don't plan on revving the motor very high, prolly 6500 max.

LS6 valves have been discontinued, so aftermarket will be easier. With a 6500rpm redline, stock valves will be fine.

Have you thought about painting your existing ones? There is this really nice looking crinkle paint that gives it kind of a textured look.

You can use turned down LS3 (hollow stem) intake valves and LS9 sodium filled exhaust valves. The lightweight valves alone won't make a lot of difference however.
