Default oil in coolant what can i look at to determine the cause?

so ive done a headgasket on my ls1 and was wondering what could have been the cause for oil to be found in the cooling system besides the head gasket? what are other components or things to look at that could be leaking oil into the cooling system? the the car is a 6 speed and the powersteering cooler has been removed so its not that what else? also when i removed the old headgasket some of the areas around the cooling passages were bad but not terribly.

crack in heads or block.. you still having the problem after? oil pressure is 4 times what the antifreeze is so it always goes that way into the coolant ,, doesn't need to be much to look like a lot

I just finished putting it back together, but the machine shop said the heads were ok,there wasn't any coolant in the pan,i was just wondering what else could be the preblem if not the gasket or a cracked block, also how do I flush the system? Hoses were swollen from the oil contamination

you fill the radiator to the very top and use a compression tester to hook up to your compresser, blow air into the cylinders and watch for bubbles in the radiator , keep the plugs in the cylinders so if it is crossing between it doesn't leak out the plug hole,, along with the radiator pressure test that farmington suggested
you have all the bases covered

Not true. You can get water into the oil as well. Bad head gaskets and cracks in the cylinder walls will put water into the oil. Among other reasons.
