Default Need to send LQ4 6.0 engine to machine shop for turbo refresh - need recommendations

So I'm building a work truck Chevy Colorado into a sleep turbo 6.0 with 4l80 setup buildup link here , truck is an 05 and the motor is from an 06 Chevy express 3500 and slowly but surely ive been tearing down the engine for the machine shop, just ordered LJMS stage 2 turbo cam and spring/pushrod kit from Lil John Motorsports Solutions. The cylinder walls feel like glass with no discernible ridges or anything. The stuff you see on top of the Pistons is just trash I gotta vacuum off. Looks like they ran water in the motor for coolant as redish buildup is present. Definitely good idea for this thing to be hot tanked, redoing all the bearings as cheap insurance and probably have it honed and everything else checked.

I had planned to use the stock Pistons, rods and crank as I've seen multiple setups out there doing fine , I was going to go with ls9 head gaskets and ARP head studs/bolts. For boost I maybe see 10-15lbs max as this is just a street vehicle and maybe to the track once or twice to see what it can do. The turbo I'm thinking around a 76/78mm size and lots of guys are going with the on3 turbos from ebay. The power level I'm happy with is 500 and 600-800 would be bonus as its a 3k lb truck and will be mostly for the street and rare track trip to see what it can do for power.

Aside from the hot tank, bearings change and hone what else would you recommend. Valve springs are being replaced too.

IMO if your keeping the boost levels down around 500 rwhp it will easily live. Even a little more isn't too hard on these engines. I'm going to make 700+ on the street and up to 1000 rwhp for the track for grudge racing with the stock bottom end, but there's a lot of supporting items to do this. Just put the basics in yours that you would for any rebuild. New timing set, lifters, oil pump. The New valve springs wont hurt anything. Just make sure you tune it for the turbo. You might need more fuel flow.

Others with more experience will chime in too.

The LJMS stage 2 turbo cam, and Brian tooley pushrods and 660 valve springs came in today, from what everyone else is doing I would assume LS7 would be a good lifter choice. My racing buddy said a high volume oil pump would be a good insurance , and for the timing chain set do I get a basic replacement set ?

I didn't even notice the cam and pushrods you ordered. I would get a good adjustable timing set as you will need to degree the cam. As for lifters, the LS7 are decent but I have heard of failures. I went with a set of Morel's
