Default 5.3 gen IV rods and Pistons in gen III

So I have 3 gen 3 iron 5.3. I want to put one in an s10 I have. So someone gave me some 5.3 floating rods and Pistons. Will these go right in the gen 3 or so I have to have crank balanced. I've seen guys throw 4.8 flat tops on rods reuse bearings and run but not much info on the whole rod and piston assembly from gen IV. Has anyone done this. I guess it be nice to pull dish Pistons and throw in the flats and roll. Just looking for some input.

The Gen IV rods are heavier so it probably will require a rebalance.

Like mentioned above it would be a good idea to have the assembly re-balanced.

Has anyone ever done this with good results and longevity? Can we hear from the people that have tried it and seen good or bad results. Same situation but going with gen 4 rods and Pistons that are l33 flat tops. from gen 3 rods and standard dished Pistons.

Gen 3 rod and dished piston weight and gen 4 rod and flattop piston weight
About 40 grams or 1.5 oz. difference. Gen 4 heavier. I'll have a better idea sat. Of what just the rod differences are. Gotta get piston pressed off first.

They actually press off pretty easy if you have a good support piece for them to press against. The shop I take mine to had all 8 of mine off in 15 minutes.
