Default 4.8L rebuild kit in 5.3?

Ok, crazy idea, im going to be rebuilding an older 5.3 (est 2000) and putting 317 heads with a turbo on it. Looking at flat top pistons. But i also noticed if you buy a master rebuild kit for a 4.8L it comes with flat top pistons and the 5.3L comes with dished pistons.

Would it work? I mean theoretically the crank and block are the same right? So the kit will work on either

I'm pretty sure it's been done before. A lot. I thought someone had posted a video of swapping 4.8L pistons in a 5.3L before.

I know then pistons will fit, but i guess im more asking if all the bearings and seals that come with 4.8 kit will fit 5.3 parts

You mean 6.098"? 6.125" is an aftermarket rod length.

Yourre right, i got my thoughts crossed. Summit has very slim picking on stock 6.098 rods.
