Default Price to me for set of TSP steel roller rockers

I've attached image of some of the line items from recent purchase at TSP, most notably the rockers - $549.99

I would get those COMP trunnions out right-away and replace them with bronze bushings.

We don't use Comp Trunions in our Roller Rockers. We use the TSP Trunions, while they are still a needle bearing, they are not the same as far as quality.

We are working closely with CHE to develop a busing for these as well. The standard CHE Bushing kit will NOT work in our Roller Rocker. The sides of our rocker are thicker and needs a small change.

I keep seeing people post this but I've installed dozens of them without issue. What exactly fails in the COMP version? We have cars that see 7500 RPM with them daily and they look like new. Of course I have many more that run stock rockers and no issue with those either. I think the whole rocker failure thing is a very low percentage.

The trunnions start to fail before anything is heard; everything seems normal. But upon inspection of the trunnion, many appear to erode from a metallurgical mismatch of the trunnion and roller bearings. The trunnions are too soft and whittle away. IF the trunnions were properly hardened to the right spec for the bearing used, they would live a good long life.

So who has actually had one fail and what did COMP do about it?

Assume the Summit/BTR/etc trunion kits are the same as COMP?

It is the lack of a hardened inner race that is the problem. The OEMs have them.

I like how everybody puts the blame on the product, nobody even considers that maybe
the install was done by someone who was incompetent. Just because you can cram them in there doesn't mean they was installed correctly. The first set I installed, the Trunnions looked great, but after install, on an Arbor Press in a clean environment with clean hands and tools, a couple of them felt gritty, I had to disassemble and clean with solvent and reassemble before they felt smooth. Everybody knows Needle Bearings and Dirt don't mix.

You make good points Slogo, but some of the failed trunnions, when hardness tested, proved to be too soft to run roller bearings in for extended lengths of time. There ARE material issues. Not saying there weren't some sloppy installs, I'm sure that happened too, and made matters worse.

There is a whole LOOOONG thread mainly about Straub bushings where I THINK someone ran hardness tests on the Comp trunnions, and they were too soft for the intended use.

Let's refrain from name calling.

Let's offer facts here.

Lonnie or Jason, when will the CHE version be available?

We have sent the rockers to guys at CHE. They are going to get cracking on making the sets as possible. In talking with them, we are confident in a timeframe right at 60 days.
