Default Found a 5.3 and 6.0 but need help deciding

I found a guy locally selling a 5.3 and a 6.0 but I cant decided. So I was looking for a little bit of help deciding. The 5.3 is a 2001 from a truck with 190,000 miles, it comes with everything including the wiring harness for 500.00. The 6.0 is a 2002 with 170,000 miles, it comes with everything but the wiring harness for 750.00.

I would like to have around 600 to 800 HP with a single turbo. I don't want a trailer queen, what I mean is I don't want to trailer it wherever I go. Last but not least I would like to keep it to a low budget. Thank in advance for your help

One guys garage did a L33 5.3 for less than 6 grand.
Stock 243 heads
224/228 cam
Truck intake
76 mm turbo

It's featured in gmhtp awhile back.

Motor made 825 at the flywheel.... either one will get you there with the right turbo and cam...

Included into that equation is that the L33 had the stronger Gen 4 rods if I am not mistaken. The newer designed rods are known for taking a significant amount of abuse over Gen 3s. Your 2001 5.3 wouldnt have the new rod design so 600hp seems safe for your setup and 800hp might work but for how long.

I know some people have made more power than you're trying to make with the 5.3, but I still like to follow the 'no replacement for displacement' saying.
