Question Lifter Recommendations custom grind cam

So I have my specs for my cam

226/228 .598”/.598” 112 LSA +4 advance

running stock 241 heads, LS6 intake, 1 7/8" LTs going with the BTR .660" Dual valve springs w/ titanium retainers, hardend 5/16th push rods, trunion upgrade to stock rockers engine has 40k miles. Thinking about pulling the heads and changeing the lifters for this cam. The car may see 6500 RPM shifts and I have reviewed the threads, but was looking for input.... LS7 lifters, Morel 5315 or Johnson 2110? or just keep the stock lifters??

Also on a side note is the LS2 timing chain going to be ok? or should I shoot for an adjustable timing chain and gears instead?? Any input is greatly appreciated.

From my research the 2110s are the best of what you listed, probably one of the best drop in options. Thats what i went with in my build. Are they necessary, probably not, plenty of people happy with morels. Either way might as well get some new ls2 trays while you are in there.

After reading that the ls2 chain is a little sloppy I decided to go with a cloyes set and added the trick flow damper/adaptor kit. Figured I might as well do it once and do it right (within reason). I did not take the jump to Johnson shirt travel link bar lifters and c5r timing chain, those would be too of the line IMO

I was thinking of going with the Morels..... Guess i should get that adjustable timing set, make it easier to degree the cam. Anyboody recommend the timing chain tensioner upgrade?

We have a nice and tight billet adj timing set. id also just recommend the ls7s in your case. you want peace of mind then 5315s but either are fine. You really dont need the timing chain dampener but we do have them also.

The timing set is $85
The ls7 lifters are $95
The 5315s are 195 or 229 with ls2 trays
The timing chain dampener assy is $50
