Default TSP 233/239 cam and intake build

Hi all! First time posting on the forum long time reader and researcher.
Im starting my very first cam swap on my 99 ls1 Camaro ss m6 trans. It's a 85000 km car. Mods are tsp 1 7/8 long tubes and 3" tubes.
New mods are TSP's cam kit with dual springs pushrods etc. 233/239 600" lift and 112 lsa. Fast 92/92 combo and trunion upgrade. Ls2 timing chain. Morel oe replacement lifters and arp head bolts. Hoping install goes smoothly since I have read and re read all the cam swap write ups on here multiple times. Hoping for around 400 whp after the dyno tune! 💨 🤘

I had that cam in a 04 gto and really liked it. I think it's a good middle of the road cam and isn't to large for a DD

That's awesome news! I'm going to start ripping it apart soon and hopefully get some pics of the progress. Couldn't be happier so far with the long tubes alone. Wish I could've done the fast 102 combo but wasn't quite in the budget.
Hopefully I can get in to the 11's in the 1/4 as well

Cant wait to see your results..

I am also running the TSP 233/239 on a ls6 intake. Looking to step up to a fast eventually.

love this cam. Easily daily drivable, and probably the biggest cam id run.

Cool man well I will keep you posted for sure!

i was looking for a used ls6 intake but can't find one anywhere close to me.
Good to here it is a good daily cam. My car is mostly a weekend warrior but I want to still keep some of the street manners it has now.
Heres hoping the 10 bolt and stock clutch holds up haha!

old roommate had this in his 6.0 in his 2000 camaro. Ran great for sure, i would recommend just going ahead and getting new clutch just so you don't have to try and fix a problem if it has one.

Yeah fair enough. I've been looking at the monster stage 2. Overkill or no?

You will not have any ptv issues with stock heads. And I would just go ahead and get the monster stage 3 over the 2. The 2 is great for a street car that doesn't see a lot of hard miles. My experience is when it gets abused quite a bit it can't hold up like the 3 can

Good to know! I will still check PtV clearance anyway. Can't be all that hard to do. I definitely beat on the car from time to time and stage 3 sounds like it will suit my needs better.

Spend the extra $200 and buy a twin disk, their LT1-s destroys a stage 3 in every way shape and form.

So many choices haha. For now I'm going to be as nice as possible to the stock one and hopefully it holds up for the summer

My buddy with that 6.0 his blew while cruising. it was a fluke deal though. They warrantied it and it never gave him a problem. I just went with a diamond stage 2 from TDP give them a search great clutches and awesome customer service. Give jason a call and he will help with anything.

Ok step 1. I will be following ls1howto write up for heads and cam swap since I'm removing the heads for the new lifters. If there is any old info that I shouldn't follow in there I am definitely open to suggestions...

Well I got the front end all cleaned out and the intake off. Now for the headers and heads!

Is it an absolute necessity to pull the oil pump to install the ls2 timing chain....
really leary about the o ring on the pickup tube. Don't want to have issues like lots of the horror stories I've read on here. If this is the case I might just leave the stock chain on there. Any thoughts??

Uhh yeah! The pump "captures" the chain between it and the block. Apparently you have never seen how your engine is built....
