Default Cylinder Head Markings/Font/Style??

Couldn't find it anywhere, but is there a standard to GM cylinder head markings/font/style? While looking on eBay, I noticed that some of the casting numbers looked a little off. So I went and looked at mine and they are nice rounded numbers that you would expect from any reputable manufacturer. The ones I'm seeing on the eBay are blocky, second hand looking numbers. Do different build sites use different markings, or does it have anything to do with a year??

Whatcha got???

Some GM heads were cast by 2 or maybe more different foundries, each having different fonts. All numbers you show are cast-in, indicating as-manufactured. As you might know, the 799 is a modern-day 243 head; lots of performance potential!

Yeah, got an 05 5.3 that has leaking valve stem seals. So I was going to get a second pair and fix them up, little port and polish, then just swap them out. Just wanted to make sure on the casting numbers. You never can tell with some people these days.

I think you have real-deal 799's, just cast in different plants. NOT a big deal. 799's are on all late 5.3 truck engines, so should be real easy to get, hopefully for a good price!
All the best on getting it all done!
