Default 1.85 Rockers and Cam vs Cam

Okay guys I'm having a hard time digesting all of this cam info.

I bought this 2002 z28 with a lit of upgrades already done. Beautiful car, runs great.

Current engine set up

Stock LS1
Stock Heads w springs
Fast 92 and 92 TB
SLP 1.85 Rockers
COMP CAM 216/220 .525/.532 LSA: 114
3600 stall
100 shot plate kit

I have BTR stage 3 Cam 231/242 .617 .593 LSA: 112 brand new in box I could install (full kit with pushrods and springs)

I will also be switching out the jets to run a 150 shot.

Which cam will make the most power for my set up!? Can anyone help please!?!

If you go with that BTR cam be sure and check piston to valve clearance with the 1.85
rockers, unless the pistons have already been notched.

With 1.85 rockers that cam would push .671 on the intake lobe. Ptv would be the least of his issues with a higher ratio rocker. A .675+ lift set of valve springs would be first on the list. The valve would reach peak lift om the intake well past where it would meet the piston, but the 242 exhaust would be somewhat close but that cam is ground on a 110 icl so shouldn't be an issue. Even exhaust lift would be .645. Way too much for stock heads. Youd need a 1.7 rocker with that.

In answering the orig question the btr will make more power but youll lose quite a bit of bottom end. 3.73 or higher gears or itll buck and surge also.

I'm sorry I should have specified better. My plan if I switched to the btr would be to switch to a STOCK rocker. I left that crucial bit out. Sorry.

so the btr would be a good cam with the Nitrous?

Also, I run a 3.55 on a 26 inch tire through a moser 9. With the stall, the car really doesn't see a lot of low end. It's strictly a track car.

Cam specs are something I'm still learning. Add in the 1.85 rockers and I was really lost on which set up would preform better.

Thank you
